Resurrect tone cycle

THE RESURRECTIONAL TONE CYCLE

The eight Resurrectional tones follow a cycle of eight starting from the second Sunday after Pentecost until the start of the Triodion. The Sunday prior to the start of the Triodion (Sunday of Zaccheus) begins the merging of the eight Resurrectional tone cycle with the Triodion. The cycle of eight Resurrectional tones continues throughout Lent in the use of the Resurrectional tropars.
